Emotions & Minds

Remember that old commercial, “Orange Juice—it isn’t just for breakfast anymore.”

Today, we are going to talk about healing and that fact that it isn’t just for your physical body.

This is a powerful truth: God’s power to heal doesn’t just apply to our physical bodies. We also have the powerful hope and promise that God has the power to heal our emotions. He can heal our emotional pain and the trauma we have experienced. Psalms 147:3 says:

He (God) heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds. (NIV)

Revelations 21:4 says: He (God) will wipe every tear from their eyes. (NIV)

Psalms 23 tells us God restores our souls. God heals our emotions. He helps us work through the pain and sorrow we have. He is there to help us in our darkest times, and He will gives us everything we need emotionally.

God can also heal our minds. Like it or not, our minds get corrupted and perverted through sin and having a sinful nature. Often times, we allow our minds to be affected and damaged through sin, compromise, and not following God’s Word. However, our minds don’t have to stay broken and damaged. We serve a God Who heals our minds.

The Word of God renews our mind and brings us healing. Spending time in prayer with God helps us focus our thoughts on Him. The power of the Holy Spirit can change our way of thinking.

I know in my life, I used to be a very negative, depressed, moody guy. I looked at everything as a pessimist and with a glass half empty point of view. When I allowed the Holy Spirit to work on me and my issues, He changed my outlook. I am now a happy, optimistic guy. God healed my mind and He can do the same for you.

Memory Verse: He (God) heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.(Psalm 147:3, NIV)
